About LumityCare

Built around the people we serve.

LumityCare Medical Transport was founded to fill a simple but urgent need across the Greater Chicagoland area: dependable, dignified transportation for people who need a little extra help getting to and from medical care.

Whether it's a weekly dialysis trip, a hospital discharge, or a one-time outpatient procedure, we show up on time, every time — with clean, comfortable vehicles and drivers who are trained to assist with mobility, communicate clearly with caregivers, and put each passenger at ease from pickup to drop-off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good to know.

What is non-emergency medical transport (NEMT)?

NEMT is scheduled, non-ambulance transportation for people traveling to and from medical appointments, treatments, or facilities. It's ideal for passengers who don't need an emergency response but do need a safe, reliable, and often accessible ride.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the Greater Chicagoland area — the City of Chicago plus the North, Northwest, West, Southwest, and South suburbs across Cook, Lake, DuPage, and Kane counties. If your pickup or drop-off is outside this region, contact us — we may still be able to help or refer you to a trusted partner.

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking at least 24–48 hours in advance to guarantee availability, especially for recurring appointments. Same-day rides may be available depending on our schedule — give us a call.

Do you accept insurance or Medicaid?

We're currently a private-pay service. We provide clear, upfront pricing and detailed receipts you can submit to your insurance, HSA, or flex-spending account for possible reimbursement.

Can a family member or caregiver ride along?

Yes. Caregivers and attendants are welcome to ride along at $15 per person, one-way, space permitting. Just let us know when you book so we can prepare accordingly.

Are your drivers trained and background-checked?

Absolutely. Every LumityCare driver is fully licensed, insured, background-checked, and trained in passenger assistance, CPR/First Aid, and safe transfer techniques.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

No problem — just give us as much notice as possible. Cancellations made at least 4 hours before pickup are free of charge.

Do you offer recurring trips for dialysis or therapy?

Yes. We specialize in recurring schedules for dialysis, physical therapy, and other ongoing treatments. We'll set up a standing reservation so you don't have to rebook every time.

Ready to book your ride?

Request a ride online or speak with a real person — we're here to help.
